Classroom Policies

Classroom Rules

The following are the rules of our classroom.  These rules will be in effect at all times both in and outside the classroom. I expect my students to be on their best behavior whether I am with them or they are with another teacher.

1. Be Respectful and Responsible to Everyone and Everything. (including yourself)

2. Let Mrs. Williams teach.

3. KHFOOTY (Keep Hands Feet and Other Objects To Yourself)

4. Use Call and Response Appropriately.

5. Support Others in Our Classroom.

Williams' Point

When students are making good choices or turn in specific assignments, they will receive a Williams’ Point. These points can be used for several different things around the room. The students can use the points if they need an extra restroom break or drink at the water fountain. They can use the points in the Class Store once a month. The Class Store will have prizes and supplies that can be purchased with the points earned throughout the month.

Consequences

When a student decides to make a bad choice or breaks one of the classroom rules, they will receive a consequence such as taking away a privilege. Some of the privileges could be losing a special activity, having a “working lunch and recess” with me or another teacher or even writing a letter to their parents explaining the choice they have made. Of course if the student continues to make bad choices, their parents will be contacted and/or a conference will be set up if necessary. In extreme circumstances, the student will be written up and sent to the office for discuss their choices with a principal.
